12 May 2021, Little Rock, Arkansas “Hot Springs Pediatric Clinic PA is excited to expand connection of integration and be part of the SHARE network. Their vast health information exchange network will allow our patients to connect with the resources that they need,” says Lyndi Turner, Practice Administrator, Hot Springs Pediatric Clinic PA. “A core tenet of our mission is to achieve the best outcomes for our patients, and we are confident that this partnership advances that priority”. “SHARE also allows us to meet the patient centered medical homes (PCMH) program and our clinically integrated network, Arkansas Children’s Care Network (ACCN) metrics as we track high-priority beneficiaries, following up with patients within 10 days and knowing high utilizers of the ED, whether it is at Arkansas Children’s Hospital, National Park Medical Center, CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs, UAMS or Baptist Health ”, added Lyndi Turner.
In Arkansas, where many large and small health systems use disparate EHR systems, including in the Hot Springs region, this is a particularly important milestone because the single interface to SHARE will allow providers at both clinic locations and staff to access laboratory results, radiology reports, progress notes, discharge summaries from outside hospitals and specialty clinics. The clinics referral network care teams can now also view the patient data, as data is flowing from Greenway EMR interface to SHARE. Also, access to real-time and historical patient health information through the SHARE Virtual Health Record (VHR) includes:
- Admission, Discharge and Transfer Data (ADTs)
- Continuity of Care Documents (CCDs) to include Allergies, BMI, Problems, Medications, Vitals, Social History, Demographic, Insurance, and Past Provider Information, Laboratory Results, Radiology Reports, Pathology Reports, Discharge Summaries and Progress Notes
“This project marks an exciting milestone for Hot Springs Pediatric Clinic PA and we are thrilled to continue our partnership to make these results available to the healthcare community in Arkansas to the patients’ care team,” says Justin Villines, HIT Policy Integrator, SHARE HIE.
Now that Hot Springs Pediatric Clinic PA healthcare team can access the real-time clinical patient results outside of The Hot Springs Pediatric Clinic PA Greenway EMR system, crucial time will be saved in clinical decision-making. There will no longer be a need to log into a separate system for the information or call other facilities to have the medical records physically sent. This enhanced functionality improves communication among providers who are caring for the same patients, but who use different electronic health record systems.
