Payers

HIE and Payers (Health Plans)

The Office of Health Information Technology is working with many payers (Health Plans) across the State of Arkansas to align with payer initiatives and incentive programs. There are many benefits for the payers to connect to health information exchanges, such as State Health Alliance for Records Exchange (SHARE), in order to increase care coordination and tracking of members with an increased risk of going to the emergency department and/or having an inpatient encounter.

SHARE offers health plans ways to streamline the way they track and get information on their members such as:

  • 24-hour daily reports for emergency department (ED) and Inpatient Discharges
  • Laboratory Notification Reports on active members
  • Real-time ambulatory and acute care data pushed to health plans on active members
  • Assist with Risk Adjustment on Medicare Advantage members
  • Assist with potential supplemental HEDIS and population health measure gap closures
  • ED and Inpatient notifications to primary care providers throughout Arkansas on members
  • Assist with incentive programs, population health programs, clinically integrated networks (CIN) and accountable care organizations (ACOs)

For more information on how health plans can participate with State Health Alliance for Records Exchange (SHARE) in Arkansas’s HIE efforts, please contact SHARE[email protected].
