Pediatric Partners PA is one of the leading pediatric practices in the Fort Smith region and is the newest addition to the list of healthcare participants now sending and receiving health data through the SHARE health information exchange.
SHARE network makes possible the seamless transfer of patients’ health records among physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers. This reduces treatment delays, enhances clinical decision making, and improves care coordination. SHARE provides a longitudinal medical record that is updated electronically in near real-time, and as patients move between healthcare providers, their medical records are electronically available to their physicians.
"We are dedicated to providing our patients with access to high quality, safe and effective care,” said Chris Schluterman, MD, FAAP. “Being able to securely and seamlessly share patient data helps with the delivery of better coordinated and connected care to improve health outcomes."
“Having our Office Practicum EMR system integrated with SHARE is ultimately assisting us in meeting quality metrics and care coordination of our patients with the Arkansas Children’s Care Network (ACCN), which our clinic is part of,” said Karen G Beard, CPC, Practice Administrator. The ACCN is the only statewide pediatric clinically integrated network (CIN) in Arkansas and the nation.
In Arkansas, where many health systems use disparate EHR systems, including in western Arkansas, this is a particularly important milestone because the single interface to SHARE will allow providers and staff to access laboratory results, radiology reports, progress notes, discharge summaries from outside hospitals and specialty clinics. The clinics referral network care teams can now also view the patient data, as data is flowing from Office Practicum interface to SHARE. Also, access to real-time and historical patient health information through the SHARE Virtual Health Record (VHR) includes:
- Admission, Discharge and Transfer Data
- Allergies, Problems, Medications, Vitals, Social History
- Demographic, Insurance, and Past Provider Information
- Laboratory Results, Radiology Reports, Pathology Reports
- Discharge Summaries, Continuity of Care Documents, Progress Notes and SDOH
Anne Santifer, Director, Office of Health Information Technology a division of the Arkansas Department of Health, commends the effort to connect, “We are very proud to have Pediatric Partners PA as part of the SHARE network. It is an honor to partner with a pediatric practice that touches many lives and to support their mission to provide the very best patient care possible in the Fort Smith area.”

About Arkansas Children’s Care Network
The Arkansas Children’s Care Network will fundamentally transform healthcare delivery for the children of Arkansas through a Clinically Integrated Network (CIN) comprised of health care professionals who provide coordinated and accountable pediatric care supported by a sustainable financial model. This network will improve quality, access, patient/family experience, and affordability of health care while also increasing physician engagement and satisfaction. ACCN will be the nation’s first statewide pediatric CIN, promoting collaboration among primary care and specialty providers who treat children across Arkansas. ACCN will enable its partners to work together in a clinically integrated manner, using common health protocols and pathways so that each child receives quality care at the most appropriate location.
